RISE's Reentry Organization Receive iPads from Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club for Reentry Support

RISE received iPads from the Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club in September as a means of case management support in the field. The flexible use and portability is essential to RISE Reentry Specialists as they work one-on-one with program participants navigating their reentry post-incarceration.
In April of 2022, RISE Executive Director and CEO, Jeremy Bouman, was invited to present to the Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club.
Club President, Joe Mangiamelli said, “We felt the mission of RISE to be in line with our core of "Service above Self" and we wanted to find a way to assist in the mission. Our Club board thought an updated ability to track clients might be helpful and suggested the purchase of the tablets for the client case managers. We applied for and successfully received a $2,500 Rotary District grant for this purpose. We hope the purchase will serve RISE.”
The Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club is one of thousands worldwide that strives to serve our communities. That effort has taken many shapes from eradicating polio in the world to more local projects.
This club annually provides college scholarships for high school students from the six area high schools, assisted families recovering from the flood damage of 2019, provided marketing and software program assistance to the local food bank, among numerous other projects, of which RISE is now part. All of these efforts are part of their foundation of service above self. The Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club is fortunate to gift in these causes with their own club funds in addition to matching funds from their Rotary District through grants.
“Thank you to Rotary International and the Bellevue Papillion Rotary Club for their financial donation to RISE. The donation allowed RISE to purchase six iPads for our reentry specialists and case managers to use as they work with our program participants as they navigate their return to the community from incarceration,” says Bouman.
RISE is the largest nonprofit in Nebraska focused on habilitative programming in prisons and reentry support. At RISE, transformation starts pre-release and continues post-release. With an inside/out model bridging incarceration to the community, RISE has served 590 incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and families impacted by the criminal justice system.
