On July 30th, RISE’s Nebraska In-Prison Program will host a Coaching Day, marking the three-month point in the curriculum. During this event, RISE staff and NDCS-approved volunteers will spend 3–5 hours inside the facility providing participants with personalized coaching and feedback on their Personal Statements, Mock Interviews, and Business Ideation.

Volunteers answer questions RISE participants have regarding the specific industry they are looking at entering or creating businesses in. Questions range from marketing and pricing strategies, startup needs, target market brainstorming, tips, products or other services to offer, licensing questions, etc.

This casual, open-house style gathering hosted at our new Lincoln office is a time for the community to meet RISE staff and learn about our mission.
On August 15th, volunteers for the RISE in prison program will sit on panels and serve as judges during a morning of business pitches from program participants. Volunteers will score the pitches and vote on who advances to the final round, where top participants will pitch again before peers, volunteers, and guests cast their votes to select the winners.

The Women's Wellness Coffee Hour is a support-based coffee hour for women impacted by incarceration. This coffee hour is open to all women (RISE Graduates AND community members) with their own personal lived experience or have a spouse or loved one incarcerated.
On August 20th, RISE will host a Coaching Day at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution as part of its Nebraska In-Prison Program.
