I Can Actually Be Something

by McKenzie Ring, Director of Marketing + Communications

"Since I began RISE, I have been able to work on myself. A lot of my problems come from my past when my mom died when I was just 6 years old.

Before taking RISE I had never been successful at anything I tried. I failed at being a father, a son, a law-abiding citizen. I always thought I was a deadbeat. But for some reason,

I truly felt if I can just accomplish this...RISE...I can accomplish anything.

6 months felt like an eternity, but in reality, it's the shortest amount of time I have ever had to make an impact on this earth. The blessing of taking RISE has given me just the littlest hope that there is life outside of lockup.

I know now that I can actually be something."
