3rd Annual Nebraska Day of Empathy

"Withness: The Journey of Reentry"
On Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 we hosted the 3rd Annual Nebraska Day of Empathy! This day was nothing short of spectacular! After two years of hosting exclusively virtual events, we were able to gather a small group and offer virtual for more people to join. From the stories of perseverance from amazing individuals to senators sharing their priorities and what they will continue to fight for, this day laid the foundation for future events to grow and become more impactful.
As we continue to work together to change the criminal justice landscape of Nebraska, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say this work is not easy. We continue to grow the number of people who care about these issues by building empathy. After building empathy we turn it into action. When we make space for people directly impacted to be heard, bring in allies to show solidarity, and have the support of elected officials, there lies a combination to create positive change.
